Recorder Education

Dr. Kazik spent four years as the director of the Fredericksburg Recorder Society, during which time she produced a number of lectures and programs to help players of all levels work on their recorder technique and performance practice. Dr. Kazik has produced over 100 play-alongs for the society’s YouTube channel and was invited to create 4 play-alongs for the American Recorder Society’s new Play-Along Library.

Flute Education

A specialist in Flute literature and historical performance practice on 18th century flutes, Dr. Kazik regularly gives recitals and lectures on topics and music ranging from Eugene Bozza to the 18th century Art of the Prelude.

Recent lectures include:

  1. “Essential Ornaments: Breaking Down the Wiggles,” A step by step guide to helping modern flutist use 18th century ornamentation, presented in February 2021 for the Flute Society of Washington

Alexander Technique

In addition to literature and technique for Flute and Recorder, Dr. Kazik specializes in pedagogy and the Alexander Technique. She loves sharing her knowledge of functional anatomy applied to woodwind technique with private students and lecture audiences around the country.
